We’ve all felt the unprecedented level of unpredictability, stress and chaos the past two years have brought with them. But for children in the foster care system––kids who have already endured the unimaginable––trauma, instability and uncertainty are a way of life.
Carrying Hope, a 501c3 nonprofit that has transformed the way children enter the foster care system across Texas, invites you to join us for a special evening that will directly impact and brighten the lives of those who need it most: children being removed from their homes and placed in foster care. This heartfelt night will include dinner, drinks, live music and dancing, bidding on fabulous auction items and packages, and listening to touching stories from foster parents and advocates while making a positive difference in the lives of thousands of foster children in Texas.
In the past five years, Carrying Hope has grown from a passion project to a thriving 501c3 nonprofit organization that has distributed more than 15,000 Hope Packs to foster children throughout Texas, transforming a once heartbreaking scenario into a transition that begins with hope and healing. Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, Carrying Hope has seen an unprecedented increase in the need for Hope Packs, distributing a record- breaking 5,000 Hope Packs in 2021 alone. Despite reduced funding and volunteer support as a result of the pandemic, Carrying Hope also opened a second office location in Houston in October 2021 and is on the brink of opening a Central Texas emergency shelter for children who may otherwise be sleeping in CPS offices.
Money raised during our annual gala, which is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Carrying Hope, will allow us to continue to meet the needs of the most vulnerable children in Austin and throughout Texas in 2022. Together, we can make sure that every child who enters the foster care system arrives carrying a Hope Pack brimming with special items of their own rather than arriving to an unfamiliar place in a moment of crisis with nothing at all.
