A few months ago we received a message from Monica, a Houston resident who was in the midst of planning a first birthday party for her son, River.
“I’ve been thinking of your mission often and I’d love to incorporate our birthday celebration into helping your cause,” she wrote.
She said River didn’t need much and she’d rather have guests either donate to Carrying Hope in advance or bring Hope Packs and most-needed items instead of presents on the day of the party. We absolutely loved her idea of having a birthday party in honor of a good cause, and we were thrilled she thought of us!

Thanks in part to the donations we received as a result of River’s party we were able to put together more than 50 Hope Packs to distribute to foster care agencies in Texas.
