Carrying Hope has recently started working with Bastrop CPS to get Hope Packs into the hands of more foster children who truly need them. “Hope Packs have benefitted the Bastrop area greatly,” says Kendall Yañez, kinship development worker with Bastrop CPS. “We tend to not have a lot of resources, as we are a more rural area. Having Hope Packs available when kids have been removed and have little or nothing with them is a great feeling for the caseworker and the child. It is exciting for the child receiving it and also keeps a caseworker from having to scramble for basic items in an already chaotic moment.” Thanks to everyone who recently contributed a Hope Pack or most-needed item to Carrying Hope—you are making a big difference for foster children and the families caring for them!
