It’s the most wonderful time of year, and we were thrilled to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon at our Holiday High Tea honoring some very deserving special guests.
This year, Carrying Hope decided to treat 50 amazing children and teens in foster care from across the city, including many who are living in shelters and will spend the holidays with no family of their own, to a spectacular tea at the historic Driskill Hotel. The afternoon started with tea and cranberry-orange scones served with clotted cream, lemon curd, and housemade berry jam. That was followed by tea sandwiches including seared beef tenderloin, housemade lemon ricotta, and turkey, hummus, and brie. The final course included sweets such as red velvet petit fours, coconut pots de creme, and macarons. And, of course, no holiday event would be complete without amazing presents — each child selected between an American Girl Doll, a large Lego set, and an Amazon gift card — as well as a visit from Santa!
Carrying Hope is honored to help create unforgettable holiday memories for children and teens in foster care and is so grateful to our sponsors — Austin Landmark Property Services, the Cartlidge Crew, and Andy Wilson — who made the event possible! Huge thanks also to @photosbywillc for donating his incredible photography services.
