Hope For the Holidays
From the smell of hot cocoa that wafts through the air to the shimmer of holiday lights that adorn front lawns, there’s no time quite as magical as the holidays. But for children in the foster care system who are away from everything they’ve ever known, the holidays can be stressful and lonely.
How you can help
Carrying Hope has four wonderful ways that you can help make the holidays merry and bright for foster children this holiday season!
In order to ensure that the holidays are filled with light, love and hope for Austin-area foster children, Carrying Hope is planning a spectacular Hope for the Holidays High Tea for 50 foster youth at the historic Driskill Hotel in early December. This unforgettable afternoon will include a multicourse, delectable high tea; a visit from Santa Claus; and a Winter Wonderland Gift Shop where each child will be able to choose from toys including American Girl Dolls, large Lego sets, and gift cards to purchase their favorite items.

Be a holiday event sponsor
Carrying Hope is in need of eight companies or families who are willing to help sponsor the Hope for the Holidays High Tea with $500 donations. Your sponsorships helps to cover the cost of the high tea, a visit from Santa and holiday gifts for each child. Your name or company will be displayed on signage at the event and you will receive a shoutout on social media
Purchase an American Girl Doll for a child in foster care
We are in need of 25 volunteers who are willing to make a $100 donation that will allow us to give American Girl Dolls to children who are attending our Holiday High Tea on Dec. 4.
Buy an Amazon Gift Card for a child in foster care
We are in need of 50 volunteers who are willing to purchase $50 gift cards for children in foster care who will be attending our Holiday High Tea on Dec. 4
Donate a LEGO set to a child in foster care
We are in need of 25 volunteers who are willing to purchase a large LEGO set for a child in foster care. Each LEGO set should be approximately $75 in value. You may purchase the set online and have it shipped to us at Carrying Hope, 9600 Escarpment, 745-239, Austin, TX, 78749, or you are also welcome to drop if off at our office, 8711 Burnet, E-52, during our office hours on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
